Description
The Wetzel family has transformed restaurant "Zur Schwane", situated in the heart of Metzingen, into an innovative artistic synthesis. The dishes served include the best produce from the Swabian Alps, a UNESCO natural monument, while the restaurant's design plays on the characteristic features of the biosphere reserve. Products including Alpine lentils, snails and goose and Filder Spitzkraut cabbage not only appear on guests' plates, but also adorn the restaurant in the form of exclusive design elements. The floors are of solid oak and the tables of walnut, complemented perfectly by subtle shades of green which enhance the natural materials wood and leather. However, the restaurant's true eye-catcher is a nine-metre-long, back-lit panoramic frieze of the Swabian Alps in the early morning mist, which appears three-dimensional thanks to various printed fabric panels.
